Well, after about a month of crawling backwards and getting stuck underneath her toys, Katelyn has finally figured out how to move forward :) We are so proud and scared at the same time lol. We haven't even started to baby proof. Ack!

Developments
Here's a happy post after all that bad news. I just want to update y'all on all the new things Katelyn's doing. Although, some of these things she's been doing for a while, I haven't posted about them.
Katelyn is doing a really good job of sitting on her own now. She can entertain herself for a while now sitting up and playing with her toys.

She's also working really hard at learning to crawl. Any day now, she'll be all over the house!
Another thing she is doing is pulling her self up on her knees.
And then there is my favorite new development. When I come to pick her up from day care, I walk into her room and stand there till she notices my presence. Once she notices me, she rocks back and forth with excitement, smiles really big and lets out a big squeal. I call her my little pterodactyl when she does that because that's what she sounds like. It's the best part of my day. I remember when I first took her to day care and how hard it was. Then I couldn't wait to go see her, but then when I would pick her up, of course, her emotions didn't change. Even though that's normal, in fact... Anything else would be abnormal, it was still disappointing. I couldn't wait till she got excited to see me. Now that she does, it was so worth the wait.

No More Being Sick, Please!
This house has had enough of being sick! After a round of steroids in her breathing treatments, Katelyn's lungs finally cleared up from the RSV about a week and half ago.
We did get to get out last weekend to go to a birthday party and shopping. That was just a little break before the real fun began.
Monday, Billy got strep throat. He had to stay home till Thursday. Before he got well, Katelyn came down with a stomach virus on Wednesday. I stayed home to take care of her since Billy was still sick, then I got it on Thursday just in time for Billy to get well enough to take care of Katelyn. Just as I started to feel better on Friday, Katelyn seemed like she was relapsing, except she had other symptoms like she sounded horse and pitiful. Afraid that she may have strep too, we took her to the doctor first thing this morning. She did not have strep, but she has thrush and an ear infection and possibly still a little bit of her stomach virus. Apparently you are prone to getting thrush when you have steroid breathing treatments.
Hopefully, Billy has dodged the stomach virus.

I Like Dada!
Katelyn's new favorite word is Dada. Since yesterday, she has been talking up a storm about Dada. It just amazes me how much they can learn in just a few months. They go from doing nothing but starring to sitting, crawling, babbling, and walking all in the first year.... Crazy!

Borders and Puppets
Katelyn is finally feeling well enough that we feel comfortable taking her out of the house. We decided to get out this weekend. One of the places we went was Borders. I'm not sure how smart that was considering it was the last shopping weekend before Christmas. We didn't even need to fight the crowds because we had our shopping done. Nonetheless, we needed to get out. Other than trying to park, it wasn't too bad. Anyway, while at Borders, we ran across these puppets. Katelyn LOVED them especially the monkey. We didn't take it home though because it was sooo expensive and I can't let her play with it because it is all furry and she'll eat it, but I keep thinking about it. Santa just might have to suck it up and make another trip to Borders LOL. Watch the video. Could you deny this child a monkey puppet?

Our Tree
I'm late at posting this, but I'm at the doctor's office and have nothing better to do :) We got our tree a couple of weeks ago. It's our first real tree in this house. The only other real tree we had was in the mobile home we were in briefly.
Here they are cutting the bottom off.

And decorated...

Back to Hull's
This weekend, we went back to Hull portraits for Katelyn's 6 month pictures. In case you are wondering, this was before we knew she had RSV, it was later that afternoon when she started coughing up stuff that we decided to take her back to the doctor. She didn't seem that sick. She had a great time at her photo shoot. We invited her Nana and Pawpaw to the shoot too. They had a lot of fun trying to get her to smile for the camera. Here are some behind the scenes photos.
Getting ready for a Christmas shot.

We're are making fools of ourselves for Katelyn's enjoyment....

Taking a break...

Daddy wearing Katelyn's bow...

Ok back to work...

Katelyn, look at me...

Please...

Breaking with Pawpaw again...

Mom hanging out...

Done and chewing on Pawpaw's knee...
